The plan is very straight forward. The list of things you can eat is pretty short. Low fat meat: low fat ham, turkey, chicken, and the doctor did say I could indulge in red meat about once a week, but I never really do unless I'm craving it. Also fish sorry, forgot that one- cos I'm not a fishy person. Besides that fruit, NO bananas or grapes, but pretty much most standard fruit, apples, oranges, grapefruit, berries, etc. Veggies: standard fare, lettuce, onions, peppers, mushrooms, carrots- the basic goal of this diet is to avoid the starchy carbs. No starchy veggies- NO potatos, no peas, no beans, no corn etc. So that's it. No dairy, no eggs, no dressings, nothing not in the list of low fat meat, basic fruit and basic veggies. It's a stricter version of low carb dieting. The aim is to get into a state of ketosis- if you are unfamiliar with ketosis and low carbing- there's a ton on the net to explain it. The first week on this is kinda sucky, you will feel tired, hungry, crappy- I never find it terrible personally but I guess some do. One bonus of this diet- besides rapid weight loss, is the side effect of ketosis which dulls hunger. You may find yourself having to remember to eat sometimes- make sure you do. This type of diet can effect the metabolism as you will read if you research. It is very important to eat so as not to cause the body to think it is facing starvation- that will lower the metabolism. And if you can do your best to get regular exercise that will help with the loss as well as force the metabolism to not slow down. There are alot of things you can make with these basic foods, stir fries, soups, basic meals, so use your imagination, and try not to get too bored. It does also break the 'food in hand' cycle for me. I tend to not think about food as much since I can't "snack' in the traditional sense. No chips etc. Snack on baby carrots or things like that if need be. I just found I didn't feel like it given the options. Also, I found that 'slim jims'(us) or pepperettes (canada) come in a low fat turkey option now and make a nice snack- or I used it as meal if I truly didn't want to have to think or prepare food. At 50 cals a shot- it's a nice kind of "sin" like food which isn't illegal on this plan.Now- I will mention this- I have done this diet twice now- and it is tough to stay motivated on- although seeing the pounds come off sure does help. Apparently different people's bodies respond differently to the occasional carbs- I seem lucky in that I can eat a few non diet carbs and still lose. What I personally found is that I need a "sanity snack" which is what I call it. First diet was chocolate covered almonds for me. When I was DYING for a treat (few times a week) I would let myself have about 6 or so of them, and I was sane again- back on track. This time around it was Nutella spread. A spoonful of it was 100 cals, and it was smooth and creamy and chocolately, and after a spoonful, I was sane again- back in control. Just a few times a week, and it made the diet soooo much more manageable for me. I don't know if you'll need to do this- I just mention it as I really did, and found as long as I kept it to a spoonful a craving- couple times a week, it didn't seem to cause me trouble.I went off my diet about 25 days to my end date. I just found myself fed up with it due to the things going on around me here- ie- the arctic getsvery little sun this time a year, and being a sun person, this makes me crazy!!! and a bit too crazy to have the discipline necessary to do this- so I am taking a break, and plan to just maintain the weight, and start again when the sun comes back- probably march or april- and finish off my weight loss. I am half way there. The other reason I am doing this in phases is because I personally believe that low carb this restrictive may be a bit hard on the body done too long. I found my period getting a bit odd- also possible on this diet for some- not dangerous just odd- you'll find in your reading. So I have made a personal decision not to do this longer than 3-4 months at a go. Just a feeling I have due to things I have read and heard- 3-4 seems good- and frankly- the motivation just can't last much longer than that- at least I have found (twice)So.............that- in a nutshell- is that. Please write me and let me know if you have other questions, and how you're doing and all that. I love to help.Good luck!!!

Diet Plan
Kasey - hello. The word was radical. I use that word cos it is a very low carb diet I got from my doctor 8 years ago when I needed to lose weight to get pregnant. Through diet and moderate regular exercise I lost 65 lbs in 4 and 1/2 months. This time I have more to lose- isn't that always the way huh? and have decided to do this thing in 2 phases. I am doing this phase 4 months cos I can't do more than that at a go. This plan allows low fat meat- chicken turkey fish low fat ham, and most fruits (not including bananas and grapes) mostly stuff like apples and citrus, and berries. And all veggies not including high starch veg like corn, beans, peas potatos. And that is it. No eggs, no milk, no dairy, basically as few carbs as possible. i take a vitamin supplement and a calcium supplement, and try to drink a good amount of water, though I do allow myself diet pop(dr didn't seem to have a problem with a moderate amount of it) It is a really hard diet, but with moderate exercise I have seen an average loss of 15 pounds a month. Right now I am at a nasty plateau, but by setting an end date I can remind myself that there is an end ahead and that keeps me going. The scale will move, I am pretty certain of that. That's the plan- what do you think?
Just need to keep this in here....

Curves are Good
These are some pictures that I think are great. I am curvy, for sure. And I am all for curvy women being sexy. These pictures are definitely, for sure, inspiration to me. I want to look like that again!
These are some sexy women right there.. they prove you don't have to be "skinny" or a "stick figure" to look good. I love it.Posted by Ms Crazy Princess at 2:21 PM 0 comments

This is a new blog. Basically just a personal one for myself. In this blog, I'm going to have pictures of inspiration (to me) to help me lose weight. I have some plans and some goals.
Eat portioned meals.
Exercise daily.
Prepare a menu for the week's meals.
Drink more water!
No soda!
No unnecessary snacking (usually out of boredom)
Cut back on fast food.. or none!
My goal? To be healthier and thinner by this time next year. I have a lot to lose and am ready to get started.
I will be exercising on my elliptical machine every other day (half an hour) 3x per week
I will be doing one pilates workout video a day (about an hour) ... 6x per week
I will be walking up stairs and Counting Stairs as well.. my goal for this is 1,000 stairs by November 30th.
I want to start making meal plans for the week instead of doing whatever is easy.
I believe this will be hard. But I know I can do it. I want to be around 140 or less. That is my long-term goal.
